This is the first page of notes made by Donna and the Friends of Jennifer, during the psychic Dorothy Allison’s preliminary walk through and reading of the Jennifer Schweiger case. Dorothy was brought around to Willowbrook as well as many of the other locations on the island associated with both Jennifer and Andre Rand. There are so many interesting and seemly amazing connections here, which begs the question how much did Dorothy know about the case before she was bought onto the scene? Whether you believe Psychics for not, the ones who aren’t real, typically have someone out in the field mining for information, scanning newspaper articles, speaking to law enforcement, pre-screening parents, all in hopes of getting some privy information to sprinkle in their “visions.” Dorothy was present for Holly Ann’s case which means she was able to bring a lot to the table just on her own familiarity with Rand. Most fake psychic use a technique called ‘retrofitting’. It’s an age-old trick of spouting off a bunch of generalizations, which in retrospect can be made to fit the circumstances of whatever the end result may be. For example, saying that the child “might be found near water, but not in it,” in a place like Staten island is not that far fetched considering if he/she is “found” it will most probably be on land, (finding a child in the water is very difficult) and that it would be “near water,” pretty right on, considering Staten Island is an island. On to the facts, or the lack there of.
Here Dorothy says “Bad Man” numerous times probably referring to Rand, whom police had publically suspected at the time. Rand was in a rooming house a lot of the time, and, I assume that was somewhat public as well. I don’t know if Dorothy knew from the press that Rand had worked as a Janitor – at the Tysen’s Lane Apartments back when Alice Pereira went missing from the same building – but probably. I never heard that Rand had something wrong with his hip or ankle. The fact that Rand had been “around garages” all his life was known (he was a car freak), but again maybe not very public. Something “Yellow on Jen” refers to her Sesame Street Pocketbook, which I think all the searchers had been on the lookout for. (CONFIRM) “Van w/ ladder or roofer” Rand was also a well-known sign painter in the area, and was often seen riding in vans with ladders. So again, a lot of information here that could have been easily mined before the vision. If Dorothy Allison somehow didn’t know all this info and this is all “pure vision”, then I’m amazed at how dead on she was.
